The Importance of the Role
Reporting directly to the Vice President, Government Affairs & Policy, the Director, Federal Affairs will be responsible for developing, in close coordination with Government & Policy team, Sarepta’s strategy at the federal level and communicating, advocating, and executing that strategy by engaging U.S. Congress, the Administration and working collaboratively with industry trade associations, coalitions, industry peers and other third-party partnersThe Opportunity to Make a Difference
More about You
Minimum of 10 years current and relevant experience in federal government affairs/policy
Bachelor’s degree required in science, political science, government or public policy
Experience dealing with federal healthcare legislative, regulatory, policy, and political issues
Direct lobbying experience required
Demonstrated ability to build and sustain relationships with members and their staff of the legislature, administration and other government and non-government policy leaders
Knowledge of the federal government’s legislative and regulatory systems
Innovative thinker, strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills
A high level of energy and passion toward patients, science and good policy
Proven teamwork and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, industry trade associations, and influential policy organizations
Attention to detail and an ability to recognize issues in the context of higher-level policies and regulations
Self-initiating, well-organized and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and independently
