The Global Transport Operations Lead, AMER is accountable for the end-to-end management and performance of the Global Transportation network out of and into our AMER sites, logistics centers and markets. They also have global accountability for Freight Audit Platform & Services Management.

What You Will Achieve

Through embedding our IMEX principles the leader will ensure standard ways of working and process replication across all transport operations, rapid deployment of digital tools and innovation to augment routine tasks across the organization.

This role will ensure that all processes, procedures, and controls are in place and compliant with appropriate SOPs and regulatory requirements. They will develop and sustain an effective team through recruitment, onboarding and training as well as ensuring the development and growth of colleagues to achieve their full potential.

This role will report to the Senior Director, Global Transport Solutions. This is a critical role that is both internal and external facing. They will support and partner to drive the GTS T3 Blueprint, sponsor selected initiatives and be a full member of the T3 Leadership ecosystem.

Operations

  • Accountable for all aspects of global transportation lifecycle management for shipments out of and into AMER.
  • Global process ownership of Freight Audit and Payment Platform.
  • Collaborates closely with Logistics Command Center to react and respond as needed to ensure ongoing supply to patients and 1st paying customers, mitigating, and anticipating future risks.
  • Seek opportunities to drive overall e2e lead-time reduction in line with the overall PGS and Pfizer blueprint supporting 'Time is Life'
  • Utilizing IMEX principles, identify creative, sustainable solutions that achieve required service, cost quality and sustainability results.
  • Manages external logistics providers to ensure service levels and capacity are appropriately matched to business and changing regulatory requirements and investigate opportunities for further value creation improvements through optimizations, consolidations, dynamic routing, etc.
  • CI mindset and culture in pursuit of service and cost improvements

  • Ensures robust programs and initiatives to meet Pfizer’s Net Zero objectives.

Leadership Ecosystem

  • Through the leadership ecosystem, translate the T5 and T4 Blueprint into the priority goals for GTS at T3 and T2 level, establishing a clear vision for Global Transport Solutions. Embed the IMEX framework at T3/ T2 and T1 ensuring process adherence and resilience in all key processes. Setting of clear performance standards for the Global Transport Solutions team and be accountable for the achievement of these standards.
  • Working in close collaboration with the Customer Fulfilment team, GSC stakeholders and sites to understand and anticipate changing needs and requirements of customers (internal and external)
  • Establish and maintain proactive alignment and culture of partnership with the Plants, External Supply, Regional GSC and GLNS teams and external service providers.
  • Drive and manage the relationships with our key vendors and seek to keep ahead of new industry developments / new capabilities, etc.

Audit and Compliance

  • Accountable to implement and maintain global harmonized policies and performance standards for physical transportation in partnership with T3 Transport Design & Innovation and Operational peers. Ensure full compliance with Pfizer Quality Standards (PQSs) and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Accountable for the management, oversight and adherence to operational policies and procedures and to ensure effective internal controls are in place and reviewed.
  • Ensure support for any audit and ensures good ratings. Endorse mitigations of any concluded findings, gaps and CAPA plan completion

Organization, Training and Development

  • He/ she must continually review and ensure the effective and efficient management of resources and capabilities to meet the needs of our internal and external customers, and emerging needs of the business.
  • Accountable to ensure comprehensive onboarding, training and development programs are in place to meet the needs of the role and develop new capabilities to drive greater capability and process efficiency into the future, aligned with the T3, T4 and T5 Blueprint
  • Orchestrate and execute robust talent management and development programs across the AMER Transport Operations and Freight Audit Shared Services team, in amanner that promotes diversity, equity and inclusion always. Promote and encourage growth gigs and zig zag moves inpartnership with GTS peers and colleagues across GLNS, GSC and PGS

Budget / Financials

  • Direct responsibility and accountability for the AMER transport budget and P&L
  • Deliver a bottom-up and activity-based budget for each area under his/her responsibility.
  • Ensures regular actual – forecast - budget controls and guarantee appropriate mitigation in alignment with the budget goals.
  • Responsible for Freight Audit Platform OPEX budget and for ensuring controls for all spend managed in the platform

Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 8+ years of experience; OR a Master’s degree with more than 7+ years of experience; OR a Ph.D. with 5+ years of experience.
  • Experience within pharmaceutical industry with good understanding of industry, transportation, logistics and supply chain at regional and international levels
  • Sound foundation in financial management and acumen.
  • Sound knowledge of IMEX principles and leadership ecosystem
  • Ability to work with multiple levels in the organization and across geographies in projects and virtual teams.
  • Communication expertise with strong ability to execute high quality written, verbal, and presentational communication.
  • Digital capability in all std MS applications

Bonus Points If You Have (Preferred Requirements)

  • Experience within cold chain logistics.
  • Trade/ Customs experience an advantage.
  • Relevant supply chain/ logistics education and qualifications
  • Previous experience of transformation and change management

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $169,700.00 to $282,900.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
