Job Description:

Ipsen is seeking a leader to support the Bylvay marketing team with its pediatric rare liver disease initiatives within the Rare Diseases Business Unit.

The Director, Rare Pediatric Liver Marketing will lead marketing efforts for the anticipated Biliary Atresia indication and will be responsible for the development and execution of the overall US indication expansion strategy for Biliary Atresia. 

Additionally, the role will support the team’s strategic patient finding, genetic testing, and healthcare professional educational efforts.

We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in the US launch of rare disease therapies, the ability to drive success through cross-functional collaboration, and demonstrated success in fast-paced environments.

Main Responsibilities & Technical Competencies

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive launch planning strategies to support the launch and growth of Bylvay in biliary atresia, ensuring alignment with overall brand objectives and business goals.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with medical, regulatory, operations, advocacy, and Global teams to ensure all activities are compliant and aligned with company standards and regulations.
  • Content Creation: Oversee the creation and management of HCP and patient-focused content across various channels, including digital, print, and social media, ensuring messaging is clear, empathetic, and informative.
  • Media Planning & Management: Manage agency partners to develop and execute a comprehensive media strategy that aligns with overall brand objectives
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders to enhance the reach and impact of patient marketing efforts.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor and analyze market trends, patient feedback, and the competitive landscape to continuously refine and improve marketing strategies.
  • Budget Management: Manage the biliary atresia launch marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to maximize the impact of marketing initiatives.
  • Educational Outreach: Create and deliver educational materials and programs that inform patients and healthcare providers about Bylvay, its benefits, and its proper use.
  • Advocacy and Awareness: Advocate for patient needs within the organization and work to raise awareness about the challenges faced by those living with biliary atresia.

Knowledge & Experience

Knowledge & Experience (essential):

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in commercial pharmaceutical roles, such as marketing, sales leadership, commercial strategy, & commercial operations with a minimum of 6 years in marketing
  • Excellent leadership, strategic planning, and project management skills
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful healthcare professional and patient marketing strategies
  • Strong understanding of the rare disease landscape and patient needs
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms

Knowledge & Experience (preferred):

  • Pediatric rare disease and/or hepatology experience

Education / Certifications (essential):

  •  BS/BA in a relevant field

The annual base salary range for this position is $180,000-265,000
