ROLE SUMMARY

The Immunoglobulin (Ig) business plays a critical role in improving the lives of patients with primary and secondary immunodeficiencies, neurological disorders, and other rare diseases. With a focus on specialty care and infusion pharmacy, the Ig portfolio delivers life-saving therapies that require strategic oversight and innovation.

The Director of Commercial Effectiveness will be a critical member of the Ig Business Leadership Team and will be responsible for liaising with sales, account management and marketing as well as cross-functional teams to ensure HQ/Enterprise, Specialty Care and Ig initiatives and capabilities development are pulled through to drive performance and value for the Ig business and Pfizer.   This role will also support launch excellence activities and will consult with key business processes (Op plan resource prioritization, forecasting) in partnership with marketing, sales, account management, medical, and others. 

The role requires strategic, financial and project management capabilities with excellent communication and presentation abilities.  A growth mindset, strong matrix leadership and ability to influence others is required to help the Ig Business achieve its goals.  The role reports directly to the VP, Immunoglobulin (Ig) Business Lead.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales Strategy and Execution:

  • Work closely with Ig Business Lead and RBMs to ensure sales and GTM strategies and tactical plans are aligned and executed
  • Manage field-force optimization activities and priorities including, but not limited to, sales metrics and reporting, Fast Start meetings, POA meetings, onboarding, training, compliance, Incentive Compensation (IC) and communications  
  • Identify, innovate, implement and sustain culture initiatives and capabilities deployment in partnership with Ig Business Lead, RBMs and PX
  • Day-to-day liaison for the sales teams with a long-term focus on supporting strategies that will leverage our field sales impact

Cross-Functional Engagement:

  • Partner with and lead and facilitate updates on key initiatives / project plans to Ig Leadership Team
  • Ensure business critical projects and initiatives are completed and provide regular updates to appropriate stakeholders
  • Liaise with Legal, Compliance and Governance on processes and issues related to pull-through initiatives with all targeted customers, GPO’s and regional payers
  • Proactively seek beyond cross-functional team on the evolving healthcare landscape to ensure continued relevance and impact to the Ig Business

Data & Analytics:

  • Perform proactive analytics to uncover key, actionable insights that drive business performance and strategic decision-making
  • Formulate strategic account and customer prioritization plans in partnership with sales and account management leaders
  • Support the development and implementation of AI and ML capabilities for Ig
  • Lead periodic KPI reviews to Ig Leadership Team

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA a plus
  • 8+ years’ experience in US pharmaceutical sales and/or portfolio strategy and/or commercial excellence roles, with a proven track record of working collaboratively across various functions within the organization
  • 5+ years’ experience in data analytics and trend optimization (i.e. interpreting and action sales demand reports, performance trends)  
  • Excellent analytic and strategic thinking skills including the ability to frame problems and opportunities using data and bringing innovation to solutions
  • Demonstrated self-starter, proactively identifying the need for specific analyses and programs, and marshaling the resources to evaluate and resolve the most challenging, strategic issues
  • Executive presence and ability to influence and establish working relationships across leader levels
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written, PowerPoint, meeting facilitation of different sizes)
  • Strong project and time management and organizational skills
  • Discretion and trustworthiness in dealing with confidential information
  • Prior experience and understanding nuances in Ig / SIP space is preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency at leading complex projects and managing cross-functional teams
  • Familiarity with strategic and operating planning processes
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and understanding of working in a matrix environment
  • Takes accountability and meet deadlines
  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $169,700.00 to $282,900.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
